The first two digits of the date code stamped on the coil indicate the week the coil was manufactured, and the last digit of the date code indicates the year the coil was manufactured. Using a date code of 078 as an example, the 07 would indicate the coil was made during the 7th week of the year and the 8 would indicate it was made in 1968. Subtract 1 to 4 weeks from the build date of your vehicle to determine an approximate date code for the coil.
